All they really needed to do was print new cards, create new phone packaging and create a new website with the same functionality as their existing service. As an added bonus, Tracfone launched the new Net10 service at around the same time they launched their over the air transactions. So new customers would not have to rely solely on having to punch codes into their phone like old Tracfone customers had done for years. Today, Net10 has grown to around 2 million customers and is an excellent alternative for customers who have middle of the road talk time needs but do not want to be burdened by a traditional cell phone contract.
